Update 2016/10/30:

Pet loyalty always increased when fed now
Some weapon drops were only silver slayers. Made slayer type based on monster faction for all dropped slayer weapons.
Humanoid magical monsters now drop magic wands. This includes daemons, gargoyles etc. perhaps I should have said Bipods :)
Added some more region definitions for [Where command and rune marking
Added cold damaging aura to ice monsters as per OSI. eg. Snow and Ice elementals, giant ice serpents...
Added heat damaging aura to fire monsters such as fire elemental, lava lizards, giant lava serpents...
Changed Paragon monsters. Now lowly creatures cannot be paragons and all paragons can drop chests and armour
Added the framework for monster leather drops to be the same hue as the monster. Coming soon.
Item ID skill now shows the serial number and type of the actual item. Useful for determining spawning or server birth rares.

Field, area and sum spells now damage others as well as yourselves and NPCs. Party members and guild members will NOT be hurt by your earthquake spell
Shoes/Boots can now be cut up for resources

Installed our new leased line connection to the server, for testing on "play.uosp.net"

Thanksgiving gift packs enabled
Thanksgiving event, Turkeys, reward coins, vendor, gifts et al.
Christmas gift packs created and enabled for later.
Valentine's gift packs created and enabled for later. Well I was in the gift pack folder, so...!!
Mafghine is working on his diabolical Christmas event. Watch out for Bad Santa!
Mafghine has added more tasks to his Epic Quest. Your days of gathering resources are over. Now you must kill!
Our new fibre is installed and working!
Hopefully fixed some skills sending your strength over 100

The server was restarted today for maintenance which means the following has gone in early:

Most cloth clothing was indestructible. This is not right and has been corrected.
Clothing Bless Deeds were making clothes blessed, but not indestructible. This has been corrected.

Update 2016 December 10th

The Christmas event house has now been active for a few days. Please feel free to visit Santa and fight some of the creatures present there, solve some puzzles and there are also training apparatus which will get you to 95 in several skills. A gate to Santa's castle can be found at West Britain Bank. From 23rd of December, players logging in will find a ticket to see Santa in their pack. If you visit Santa while carrying this ticket in your main pack, he will give you a gift. There are still many Thanksgiving turkeys roaming the world for you to kill to collect their red tokens. The tokens will be redeemable always but their spawns will be switched off on 2nd January.

We have been working on balancing tamers. This had become over-powered with the introduction of pack bonuses. We are still working on this, but this week's update reduces the maximum number of pet control slots for topped-out tamers to 7. Everyone has been reset to the normal default of 5, so if you are a tamer you will need to visit an animal trainer at any stable and use the keyword "pets" to have your proper number of stable and control slots updated to your current allowance. It is planned to allow tamers wearing their Tamers Heart Amulet to increase this to 8 with the next update while the amulet is being worn.
The current control slots are allocated to pets as follows:
3: White Wyrms, Ancient Silver Steeds, Dark Steeds
2: Dragons, Nightmares, Silver Steeds, Firesteeds
1: Horse, Ostard, Frenzied etc.

Most NPCs will now refuse to buy your goods. There are some exceptions to this.

Ships are no longer sold by NPCs as these have been craftable for a long time now.

Dark Elves are now going to bother you until after the Christmas period

Tweaked the speed of pets on guard to be the same as the bonus given on follow

Many creatures will now drop leather in their own colour. So red dragons drop red barbed leather hides and brown ones will drop brown etc. Differing colours do not stack. Currently, crafting will return items in the default resource hue, which is green in the case of barbed, rather than creature hue. This will be fixed in a future update but I wanted to allow people to begin saving resources in rare colours. For example white wyrms only have a small chance to drop 1150 or 1153 hued hides to prevent ice white armour clad warriors becoming commonplace. All paragon creatures will drop paragon hued hides. Leather retains the hide hue when cut.

Update 2016 December 30

Players no longer receive a blessed Runebook at login. We are no longer a "new" shard.

Added a House Teleporter which you may purchase for Platinum or Donation coins. This will allow friends of the destination house to be teleported to it. Lock down the tile in the destination house at the precise location you want to materialise. Double click the tile to mark it. Unlock the tile and lock it down again in the source house. Co-Owners can activate/deactivate the teleporter by double-clicking it to prevent its use. On the Activating step the image on the tile will cycle through the available options. To clear the destination, lock down at the destination point and double click again.

Added a block tile which you may purchase for platinum or Reward coins. When locked down in your home it prevents non-friends from stepping onto it, helping to improve your house security.

Untamed animals will be able to enter your house unless they are prevented from doing so by the above block tiles.

Added a block tile for GM use which is similar to the former, but may be used with many other criteria for quest purposes. For example it might block mounted players, ghosts, non-ghosts, criminals etc.

The Tamers Heart Amulet has been replaced with a new version which remembers your bonus after logout. It also grants the extra follower slot as promised and can be dyed with a regular dye tub. If you have an amulet you will find the replacement in your backpack.

Soulstones which are active now show the skill name and value stored on them. The three colours all have the same functionality and are tradable. The price has been reduced to 80 platinum coins for a limited time.

Dark Steeds were acquiring 1025 hit points which was unforeseen and unintended, and more than a Greater Dragon! New Dark Steeds will spawn with parameters nearer to their Ancient Silver Steed and White Wyrm counterparts. Existing Dark Steeds have had their hit points reduced across the board to 930 in the sake of fairness, but this is still about 100 more than newly spawned ones will achieve at maximum.

Added Ice Wyrm and Dark Wyrm tamables. The Dark Wyrm is similar to a White Wyrm in performance. The Ice Wyrm is ice blue and slightly more powerful and on a slow spawner. Ice Wyrms have a damaging cold aura until tamed which will return if they go wild. Ice Wyrms require 105 taming.

Bonded pets ghosts now retain 20% stamina in order to better keep up with their owners

Monsters will now drop blessed items on death for quest purposes

Increased compassion gain daily cap in order to facilitate participation in our Epic Quest.

We have upgraded our Client to version 6.0.1.10 in order to bring you the new World facets of Ilshenar and Malas using the Felucca ruleset. Please download this from our Downloads page. Logging in with an older client with prompt you with a warning for now, but will not kick you out just yet.

Ilshenar and Malas are active and we are working to populate these lands and dungeons with horrible monsters over the coming weeks!

The cold damaging aura on ice monsters has been turned off temporarily due to the damage being caused to players who were visiting Santa. When the Christmas Event is over in a couple of days, this aura will be turned back on.

[AddToParty command can now be used to add players by targeting them, or by name if they are not in sight.

[AFK command can now be used to let people know that you are away from your keyboard, with an optional short text message thus: [AFK On Phone. Cancel your AFK status by using the [AFK command again. Note that this simply displays a message over your head every few seconds. It does not make you invulnerable from attack in any way.

I have also added Felladrin's ProTag system to enable us to keep better track of player quest completion/progress. Thank you, Felladrin, for these very useful tools.

Player vendor charges turned off to stimulate player economy

Ship hold capacity increased to 1600 stones, to bring in line with pack animals

Ice creature damaging aura now turned back on and Xmas event closed.
Damaging aura for ice and fire creatures reduced to one tile range. Was causing death in player homes!

Pet bonding deeds now available from Platinum and donation vendors @50 platinum

Adding people to your party now presents the target player with a gump. You may also add them by name using [AddToParty <name> or omit the name to get a list of players to add. This way you can add players who are not in view.

Added new player home Guild Workshop - Imminent hotfix do not buy yet
Added new player home Medium House
Images of these will be uploaded to the custom house forum shortly.

Runebooks can now be opened in player vendors' packs so people can see what they are getting. Still cannot be opened in a player's pack.

Client patch. Please download the new version 6 client which has just been updated. This resolves some of the anomalies the original v6 client brought in with differing ground levels (such as the hedge maze and passage to the lost lands in the mountains North of Minoc and also the back door into dungeon Khaldun. It also contains the new player houses.

The Mythic Character Token is designed to be used by new players only and went awry when used by people who had already been working on some skills. As such, it will now reduce all skills to zero before applying the five skills of your choice. It also replaced Blacksmithy with Alchemy when the skills were applied. This was because in their infinite Wisdom, OSI refer to this skill in three different ways internally: Blacksmithing, Blacksmithy and Blacksmith and change the required name during sequence. I have now corrected this.

Instant Pet Bond Deed now checks for Tamers Heart Amulet to bond pets which require > 100 taming and animal lore

Tamer's Heart Amulet quest complete. GM tamers can now use the special moongate at Skara stables to visit the quest NPC. You will need the 5 pieces of male paragon leather armor to complete the quest

Level 1 Paragon chests dropped a weird non-stackable disappearing non-existent Platinum coin. Corrected.

Some region updates

The acid river running through the Palace of Paroxysmus will now cause you pain. More pain the further down the river you go. Also the icy river in the crystal caves will hurt your lungs. Fun and games.

Players and creatures can now be banned/removed from a courtyard

Stone mining and crafting has been enabled. You will need to buy and read the books of knowledge from the Stone Crafter NPC in the Gargoyle city in Ilshenar along with the Stone Mining Toggle which you use by double-clicking it in your pack or within 1 tile range. Your current mining status will be displayed above your head on each use. This item is blessed.

Added a new tamable; the toxic dragon. These creatures are toxic and their skin oozes deadly poison, colouring it green. Even the fumes from this can poison you if you stand too close to one. Once tamed, the calmed creature will no longer produce poisonous fumes. It will, however, retain it's high resistance to poison, making it useful when combatting other poisoning creatures.

Added a new tamable; CuSidhe. These creatures can only be tamed and ridden by elves. Humans have been found to be able to ride them if they wear CuSidhe hide boots... These creatures are found only in an area of Ilshenar surrounded by quicksand which will slow down your progress.

Cange to Provocation skill. You can now provoke onto yourself or other players.

Error with /stuck system sending people from Islhenar and Malas to our empty Trammel instead of Felucca
Increased wolf spider loot and changed to a visible body, hue 1150
Changed Trap Door spider to a visible body, hue 1109
Summoned Daemon was taking up 5 follower slots. Changed to 4
Toxic Dragons were not resisting poison and not delivering poison in combat when tamed. Changed to single-target Wyvern code for now.
The new region changes from last week changed some dungeon regions to permanently lit. Corrected.
